About the Workshop

The primary objective of "Clay Chronicles" is to introduce participants to the mesmerizing world of stop-motion animation. Through a hands-on experience, we aim to showcase the creative process of transforming a lump of clay into a detailed portrait character, capturing the evolution through a stop-motion video.


Workshop Highlights:

Clay Modeling Process by GURPREET Singh:

Beginning with a lump of clay, we will demonstrate the process of molding and shaping the material into a lifelike portrait character.

Stop-Motion Video Production by Avimesh Sharma:

My colleague, Avimesh Sharma, will record the entire process, seamlessly weaving together the frames to create a captivating stop-motion video.

Gurpreet Singh

My name is Gurpreet Singh. I am an Assistant Professor at the UPES School of Design. I am a part of Transportation Design and collaborated with the Animation & VFX department as well. I obtained my Master's Degree in Fine Arts from the Government College of Art in Chandigarh (Sculpture). Academically, I am a Gold medalist from Punjab University. I specialize in portraiture. I am a Professional in clay modeling, plaster, metal, stone, woodcarving, and Digital modeling. I worked as an Automotive Clay modeler at Maruti Suzuki India Limited for two and a half years. I was a part of several futuristic Maruti automobile models during my time at Maruti Suzuki. I founded Waryam Arts Studio, which specializes in sculptural artwork and vehicle design. My sculptures are on display in several various countries. I had experience working for a number of private art organizations. I collaborated with the Company Bagh Museum in Amritsar and the Army Museum. I believe that hard work, determination, and honesty with your work will take you to your life goals.

Gurpreet Singh

Avimesh Sharma

Mr. Avimesh Sharma is a 3D Visuals designer currently working with an post Senior Assistant professor in UPES petroleum university, Dehradun INDIA and also running with Game design specialization in School of design department in UPES. Avimesh completed his masters in painting (MFA) and B.Ed, apart from this he had 12+ years experience in 3D Games, Virtual and animation industry. Producing low and high-res environment models with correct shapes and forms for stylized 3D video game industry and Metaverse. 3d Assets/props/Levels for Film, Gaming, Virtual platform, Television, and Print media, specially in all types of modeling & texturing, apart from these also had experience in art and craft. In free time Avimesh used to participate in Painting exhibitions, different lifesize installations projects, Art & craft events and research projects and had 20+ awards, 35+ paintings group shows. Avimesh received Best 3D film Award in DELHI 2011. Guinness world record “longest painting by numbers in world” 2014. AAA titles video games still had Avimesh’s name in credit lists - Space, Darksouls-2, Rage Worriers, Rare, World of Tanks, Planet of dinosaurs, Moto GP RIDE-2, injustice-2, Dragon front, Disney, Zynga games.
